Dear Bandcamp (again):
Hey. Me again. Captain complainy-pants. I have a small bone to pick with a small “feature” of your service. I’m sure others are having the same problem and I wanted to voice this for the betterment of your service (potentially… if you’re even listening… errr, reading).

Figure 1.0
I run a record label. We have 42 records available for download on our bandcamp page right now (figure 1.0). When a customer tries to redeem a download code from our bandcamp page that has already been redeemed, they are prompted with a notification stating so, along with the option to email us for a new code. This, in theory, is great.

Figure 1.1
So, they contact me and I get an email (Figure 1.1). Also, in theory, pretty great — except for the part where there’s absolutely zero identifiable information about which of the 42 records of ours they tried to download. Even if we had just two records on our bandcamp page this would be a nuisance. This happens multiple times daily. So I am then left with no choice but to respond to their inquiry asking which record the download was for, await their response and then, finally, I can send them their coveted download.
So. That’s a long winded way of asking if I can get something more like this — with just a littttle more context — in these automated emails:
Hi there, I entered my download code ‘1a2b-3c’ for “ALBUM TITLE” by BAND NAME, but the site said it had already been redeemed. May I please have another one?
I’d be really stoked.
Loooovvveeee yoooouuuuuuuu,
-Kevin Duquette
PS: Also, please please please make albums on our bandcamp homepages drag-and-drop sortable! FORTHELOVEOFGLOB. The drop down select menu is the laziest, most 1999 solution for this possible.
